Christy Keeney

Lets be blunt. Christy Keeney sculpts good!
The 'drawn' nature of his wonderful ceramic sculptures is a considered consequence of their construction. Made from slabs of wet clay, Christy draws details and texture into its surface.

“I visited a retrospective exhibition of Picasso, at the Tate gallery, in the early 80s when I was at college, and many of my influences came from seeing that work. Especially a collection of small card-board cutout and folded, figurative sculptures. These simple two dimensional pieces opened a world of possibilities on how I would approach my own work.” Christy Keeney
There's a great 360 'video' on Christy Keeney's website, that'll really get you wanting to make!
